Thought I'd start a thread to just isolate what is going for this weekend.
Please post in here if you're playing at all this weekend. Let us know your characters name(s) and what server you're on (if other than Cosmic Turbine).
Yesterday (Friday), I continued leveling my Sith Warrior (Anise) that I created a few weeks ago. I'm up to level 12 and questing on Drumond Kaas (sp).
Today (Saturday), I'm going to role a smuggler (Zurielle). I will be on starting right around noon PST. I would really like to test leveling with a group, even if that's only 2. If anyone is game for starting a toon around the same time, or even later, please let me know. Post in this thread what time you will be on and your toon name so we can get together.

Well, there's Heroics, and flashpoints, and other things to group for, but personally I dont like grouping for class story quest. But to test it out and all yeah sure But anyways, Cosmic Turbine has huge waits, but my BH is lvl 13-14 on Kaas. Kaleisk. I may start new ones maybe a new trooper which I dont want to because mine is bugged, or Smuggler because I wont play that launch

Yes, I've grouped for heroics and flashpoints already. I'm just really curious how leveling in general would be grouped.
I'm in the queue for Cosmic Turbine... been waiting for about 15 mins and looks like it'll be another 15 before I get in since I'm halfway from where I started initially in the queue. I will be creating Zurielle so look for me!

I tried grouping in general before, because your level progression is basically all centered around your story progress, it gets kinda slow and dont enjoy your personal story as much from my experience. The real issue is that when you interact with quest person, its group roll to decide options and norm stuff aren't repeatable I don't want others choosing the outcomes (yes morality points you choose but may not see the option you choose).
This is fine for Flashpoints because very replayable. Anyways not to rant. lol. Can always ungroup/regroup when speak to quest NPCs.
I do know later on upper levels it makes more sense. Certainly worth experiencing it, is interesting being a part of someone elses story. Far as grinding, Ive never grinded in the traditonal sense ie killing mobs. Just whatever part of quests. Why I love SWTOR, unless you skip heroics/side quests/a flashpoint, not really needed early levels.
AND Id love to play but if I crash I somehow get back into queue. Because there's the char loading at 50% issue. Something BW hadn't fixed it can affect anyones char's they create and try to play later.

I've ended up back on the server I was on the last time I did beta which is something beacon.. can't remember the first part of the name. I also did random names so I don't even remember them.

I did my first Flashpoint, The Esseles, and it was pretty exciting. I managed to win a few convo rolls which was cool and i like how they've structured it so everyone votes on light/dark side options but you get the points even if your in the minority. Is there some stat that increases your chance with that or is it all random?

Ok.. so ive been on day and night ( couldnt find anyone >.> ) testing Imperial Agent, Sith Inquisitor, Jedi Knight and today ill be a Soldier. All up to lvl 10/11
IA: Very nice gameplay ( that will be my main, Sniper AC ), the Story fits playing a Agent, trying to lure planets and factions to join the empire. I teamed up with a friend ( BH, IA at the beginning to see what happens to the story missions ). The cover system.. awesome system. Safed our as*** many times. I took the agro and just used cover.. once agro lost trying to get it back.. elite enemy or boss..no problem. Ive seen an operative spy while we whre doing the Black Talon Flashpoint.. he barly used heal ( Bh mate went healer but was wondering if that guy knew he had heals.. ) Solo options: well the cover system could help but no CC ( none noticed at lvl 11 ) makes that a really hard option. Grouping and u kick ass
Sith Inquisitor: Boy.. Lighting.. lighting.. CC,CC,CC.. did i mention more CC? The buff this class got is really the best ive seen yet ( well from the view as IA ).I didnt made it to hit lvl 10 but its a real solo class for themost missions, yet id suggest a group for 2+ missions. even your cc wont safe u there.. After all i decided.. no class for me.. the story is .. blah. The feeling i got the whole time: I need to kill someone.. they all hate me.. let me kill that guy!!!!
Jedi Knight: Not much to say.. from my view.. the story is "oh well". Ive had so many skills on my toolbar. even 2nd row and still got confused.. wanted to play Tank jedi. Didnt went as planed.. how do u tank without Taunt skill at lvl 10? The Flaspoint was awesome! Negative: our group was Jedi only.. BORING! Saber nice.. but ill stick to pew pew. My friend Played Counsoular (SP?) and noticed.. his heals where weaker as there mates heals ( smuggler,BH AI) But it seems like his heals would be stronger if u get deeper into the JEdi healer.
Soldier: Comming Soon**
Bugs: Flashpoint Republic Side: funny moments where as we meet Ironfist..Silent Clap anyone hehe Once we where done the LT. told us: Now we are safe! "all pointing to the background" umm no.. that stardestroyer still is there.. shooting us >.> When u crash and log back in your NPC helper is gone, also the option to call him. A full Relog gets him back, but thats pretty anoying. A Short way we found: send him to sell your stuff, right after that hes back without to relog. Large Lagspikes every now and then.. i hope those get fixed soon Clipping bugs/ Animation bugs That Orange Pixel ( seems to be visible if u use lower resolution )

I enjoyed playing the sith inquisitor as a dark side character, I thought the way you get your first companion character was nicely done even if the quest to get there was a pain. I didn't do any group quests prior to getting that character, as a result the diffuculty ramped up tremendously with an easy going level 7 experience to fighting level 10 bad guys in groups of three, one of them being elite and me having no companion yet. That was a lengthy but doable process.
I saw the orange pixel too, I thought my monitor was to blame. It's kind of a shame it's not, I could have used it to rationalize buying a new one.

Max group size is 4 ppl anyways.. so if u had no companion it wouldnt have been a problem if another groupmember got 1. Your NPCs count as full member so 2 player and there bots are a full group. if u want to add another player send 1 npc away

The Pixel was was pretty funny, at first i thought it was a speck of dust on my screen. After a couple hours of playing i barely noticed it.
The silent clap was a little weird but i think they should have that fixed in time for launch. In a game with so much dialog and character interactions it's understandable how something like that could go missed.

Definitely dont need to group for story quests/side quests other than heroics/FPs/future stuff if near its near lvl, and should be if do all side quests and heroics starter world and stuff. For beta I tried not to do everything early to save stuff for launch. So usually a bit underleveled by time I leave starter world. And getting SI companion is the hardest in game, but satisfying, seriously others you're just given your companion. I found kiting the droids and the AOE attack that flies ppl 20m or so off that ledge works At least when I got him it was only way solo. Anyways... I loved SI story. And it really gets interesting to me, But each their own You really cant judge a story just on first starter levels imo. Tho it does set a feel for it. All stories get better and twists and turns and as you get more companions. IA has an awesome story for sure. JK has issues, cant tank at lvl 10. And system is borked a bit later levels. What I like about FPs is replayability. With the dialogue rolls and DS/LS options one can take it in a different direction, like Black Talon, an early decision everyone did DS 3 times I played the 4th the Captain guy lived and ended differently. But yeah... fun. And ACs with heals, I know if you dont go up the Healer tree you tend to forget you have an early weak heal. You focus on DPS/attacks. But pre lvl 20 you basically can function as a healer because healer dont get the real good healers until about then or after when noticeably need them. BH/Spies get a stronger one at lvl 10 but Sorc/Sages get 2 by lvl 12. One weak but also quicker cast time than BH/Spy. Then at 12 their heal is same as BH/spies basically. Guess thats the balance.

Well i just got up to lvl 11 on my SI.. i changed my mind.. pretty much fun class.. story gets better thats true, for the BT flashpoint. This one gets awesome IF u kill the captain and finish the bonus quest.. that way u get all 4 boss spawns. we had a hell of a time with 1 heal SI, 1 bh tank and me the SI assassin. The BH heal pet was the point that keepd us all alive hehe For the Companion Quest.. u think thats hard? i just crushed those guys without to heal once. 1 into whirlwind. 1 shocked kill the non elite done..repeat.. i will miss my SI i got together in this beta,, The Jedi on BT droped an really awesome Doublebladed LS and the rest of my gear wasnt bad either.. might grind 1 once i am max lvl on my IA ^^

SI Companion Quest - Oh, well this was a previous build like I said not sure they changed it I think, but it used to be lvl 10 droids in clumps of 5 , 3 silvers and 2 norms. When I did the SI companion part. At lvl 8. I think they toned it down, because, the only way to do it solo at that level was kiting the droids to ledge. Khem Val was easy to defeat.
And BT - I only played LS option once, where the crew doesn't kill the Captain and you have to do an extra step actually then. I forget. I preferred BT > Essels for first FP. Idk. But group make up def does add a lot, I played with 3 SIs once and I quit lol was boring.
And myself having played IA for weekend, I will be rolling onr when I max SI and Trooper or JK on Rep. I think I prefer it now over BH, even tho BH is awesome story. But I prefer it's mirrored skills on Trooper - which also really picks up at end of starter world, when there's a big twist. Sadly my trooper is bugged and havent been able to load him for over a week at lvl 11.
I also like how the NPCs refer to you differently based on class keeps so side quests fresh. And some different dialogues.

Greetings all, I have been testing on and off all weekend, I played an AI, can’t remember the server, but it was an off one, one that had no wait time when I started it. So far I have enjoyed the game, no major issues, only one crash. The stories are nice, leveling was not too bad, made it to level 8, with my limited play time. I didn’t join any groups, I want to save that for when it goes live and do things as a guild again. Right now I’m downloading it to my laptop to make sure that it will run on it for when I travel. Can’t wait to see you all in game when it launches.
