Ouch must have cost you $$$?
No one wants to admit they have an alt on SS? Lol. I hardly play mine - just SS is the galaxy to gauge the rest. I used to regret us not going there; but then times like The House Pack Up fiasco on SS; due to pop; and no chance ever for a city for LXB; makes me glad we went where we did =) HOWEVER - I still wish SF had a wee bit more pop =D Maybe break to Medium at least one day... =)

I used to have a toon on SS, went there with a few friends just to do something new. I didn't really like it, and after the first day there I never logged the toon in again, and eventually deleted him. And with all the problems SS has been having now, I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to try and play there.

Yup Kall. I mean look I like lots of pop. But there is such as thing as too MUCH of a good thing =) That's where SS is at now. SOE did not anticipate a majority of people free CTSing to ONE server. SOE servers are old. They should have had a cap in place imo.
Extremely Heavy doesn't due credence to explain the pop level on SS in it's peak. It's went well over that.
Events like HPU proves it. And so SWG has pop issues still per server; Id love for one day SOE to think something through a little bit more.
IMO - some peeps who went to SS due to all this may want to move. Ive heard of a few doing so but fewer gonna pay 50 bucks per char to do it. Imo SOE needs to plot ANOTHER yeah ANOTHER Free CTS from ANY server. And NOT too SS. But you can FROM SS. I think more peeps than may think would leave SS.

I'm guessing everyone went over to SS, just because it's a server where everything is accepted. Huge RP community, constant Space events, loads of PvP and PvE to go around, even a lot of player events. To go a long with that, more people than you can shake a stick at.
I think if I ever got the money together to transfer (ha! yeah right) I'd consider it. Not that I dislike Shadowfire or anything, just been pretty empty lately everywhere I go.

I love the heavy population on SS. Just the other day, on my alt, I was chatting with some other players who were newer members like me. It was very nice talking to someone with my same experience level in terms of being a new member to SWG. I stood at the Moenia starport chatting with those people and our transport came and went several times.
Every day I am running into newer players or helping one or two of them get unstuck from the legacy quest. By contract, I ran the legacy quest on Intrepid largely alone and very seldom did I see another soul save for those of you who came to help me out when I needed it. Intrepid was a house of veterans and so is Shadowfire to a degree. It's not a bad thing, really but I have to admit that the experience I have had on SS has been positive for me. If LXB were there (and, no, it's by no means a suggestion to move) it would rock the server.
Just my two point five cents.

Well - there's all of those positives - and reasons Id love to have gone there. HOWEVER - there is too much of a good thing. With the ancient servers SS has many issues but Im sure everyone would say well worth it. The bad stuff for a small guild like us would be finding a city and our crafters making a name. But - well...
What you do get is a WIDE range of players. 24/7. A huge community is great - something that changes the dynamic of any game. I haven't seen a place like SS since the ole days of Intrepid before the NGE.
But - SS isn't the only server like that - it cant handle hundreds more transfers imo with the ancient SOE servers. I really wish... SOE had way fewer servers then they are keeping. Everyone would benefit imo and not have one ultimate server and still have a few small scattered servers... solved nothing really but make one server the go to server.
Id LOVE for SOE to have another transfer but wont happen so soon. Id love them to force server merges. Id love for people to horde into SF. Whether they like it or not =D Why I say make so cant go SS so 3-4 servers, total, not including european. That imo is what's needed. Sounds small but it's not; if we get each server like SS. It'd be best for everyone!

I can't imagine why they wouldn't shut down the lowest populated servers. It just makes sense. They do a free transfer, see how many go willingly, maybe do another here soon, and eventually there's so few left on the outbounds that they finally close them down and force the remaining populace to choose a server or let their chars die on their home server.
I mean, why not, and why wouldn't people expect them to? It's what they did with the Japanese servers.
Starsider is crammed. Almost as good as pre CU. But it still has the credit inflation and the AFKers and the respecitis. Ents and medics are bots, farmers are everywhere, crafters are just SEA/RE alts., etc. Take whatever post NGE playstyles and game issues there are and multiply them.
That's Starsider.
