It's a shame the meeting failed, but it isn't surprising since they didn't even try to organize other than to set a date, time and place. No agenda, no rules for who speaks or anything like that. Even though they are rescheduling, I don't think they will fare any better the next time.

This is not much different than when Fire tried to rally everyone to let their fate fall to the roll of a die. All for One and One for All. Only there's too many opposing viewpoints for that to work. At this point, what will talking to other guilds accomplish? What we already know? Some want a pvp server, some want a heavy population server, some want a space server and a few even want an RP server.

Keeping in mind that the "Forum community" is a very small percentage of the Intrepid community, if LXB chose to go where the most of the forum community has stated they are going, it looks to be about 50/50 Starsider or Chilastra. There's eleventy-dozen reasons why they chose those servers.

What does LXB want? The most people? That would be Chilastra (since SS has been ruled out). It's heavier into PvP as well. And I am surprised to see their personality poll say they have a focus on RP too?

Or do we want a more neighborly community, one similar to what we've enjoyed on Intrepid all these years? Shadowfire.

Back when I first started on SF 5 years ago, I went there with a bunch of other Serenity guild members who had a guild and city there. SF used to have a very strong PvP community and merchants were so numerous it was asses to elbows there were so many shops and tents and factory/harv farms. But as it was one of the added-on later servers, it's population never was as high as some, and the attrition over time eroded their PvP and commerce.

Granted, all the inbound servers are going to undergo a change in activities once the refugees move in. So really, whatever criteria we use to make a decision is likely to not be true 6 months from now. All the inbound servers are going to become new blended communities.

I know that CODA has chosen to move to Shadowfire. They wanted to go to a less populated server where their presence could make a difference and not just be lost in the crowd. There's also a more likely chance of getting a city there.

iR and a few other guilds have chosen Chilastra for the PvP and the heavier population. More commerce opportunites, more space, more buffs, etc.; all the perks that come with more players.

It really is a hard choice to make. Both have desirable conditions. Even so, I think no matter which we choose, we are going to lose a few members. As much as we'd like to hope the whole guild will move as one, we must keep in mind that people need to move to where they believe they will have the most fun. That might mean going with friends instead of with guild. Or it might mean splitting up some alts, sending one with LXB and the other somewhere else or making a new char for either.

I know I am moving my Kettemoor char to Starsider. I am willing to delete my Shadowfire chars if we choose there (since I never could afford the CTS and haven't really played them since NGE anyway). If we choose Chili, seeing as how I am the only member with no combat char, it's not a problem because I can do what I do anywhere. The pvp isn't a criteria for me at all and no one takes traders or non-com entertainers to instances anymore anyway, so you guys choose what's important to you.

All I ask is that we make a choice sooner rather than later and that we try to be ready to move in January when the FCTS begins. Waiting till March will leave us with scrounging for a location and behind in setting up shops again.

Okay. I'll hush now.

Nicely said, Qitu. You elaborated upon some items that I was going to say. Anyhow, this is my position on the CTS topic and it stands as official record or whatever.

There is only one factor that will have me go to another server or leave the game altogether but the chances of that happening are virtually infinite. Sorry, I don't mean to tease with that comment but I have put it out in the open anyway just in case it does happen.

As I stand right now a move to another server doesn't effect me. I am still new to combat with so much to learn and I have just made my alt, Beeblebrox, Master DE. I am in a good position to move as any style a new server offers I will be able to incorporate.

Additionally, I have been moving away from combat some. I have not given it up but I have found the trading aspect to be appealing of late. There is so much I have planned as a DE that I am excited to get my new workshop and showroom established on our new server. I can be a DE anywhere.

Having said all of this, I will go where LXB decides to go just as long as LXB is happy where it goes. I will not leave the guild as it has invested a lot of time and resources into helping me. Furthermore, you are all a pretty decent lot of people to hang around with. LOL Why ruin that?

I will add this before finishing. We should have a server chosen before the CTS begins on January. Waiting after that, I feel would be foolish if not disastrous. We also have to be ready to choose our new city location when the purge happens. I feel that after the purge there will be an Oklahoma style land rush and if we are not prepared we will be left with a very short list of alternatives. Conduct a poll of locations, have a guild meeting, form a committee, or whatever; a plan must be in place for when that happens.

Thank you.
